Impregnation is the process of placing carbon materials in a pressure vessel and forcing liquid impregnant (such as bitumen, resins, low-melting metals and lubricants) to penetrate into the pores of the product under certain temperature and pressure conditions.
Carbon materials that need to be impregnated include:
(1) The joint of the graphite electrode is roasted blank;
(2) Roasting body of high-power and ultra-high-power graphite electrodes;
(3) Graphite billet with impervious graphite for chemical graphite equipment;
(4) Bad materials for some special purpose electric carbon products.
